Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. Her most well-known role is for her character, Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won the Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a home with four other brothers. In childhood, Delaney dreamed about becoming a reporter for the court. She began modelling in highschool and eventually gained commercial roles when she moved into New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Since then Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. Her professional career has been better than her personal life. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism throughout her life and has been through two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody of the only child she was born with.
